We will be attending the 5th beyondgas Congress from September 8 to 10, 2026, in Oldenburg.

The event, which focuses on hydrogen, takes place annually as a congress with an accompanying trade fair exhibition in Oldenburg. This year's event is themed 'Shaping the hydrogen market effectively!' and serves as a marketplace and accelerator to bring together relevant stakeholders in the gas and hydrogen industry, discuss technical project details, and accelerate the development of the hydrogen economy and its market activation.

A particular highlight will be the participation of our colleague Alexander Lück, EVP Sales & Marketing, as a speaker at the keynote session on September 9, 2026, from 9.00 to 10.30 a.m. on the topic: 'Off-takers, suppliers – who pays for hydrogen – and who doesn't?'.

From September 30 to October 1, 2026, the Handelsblatt Annual Gas Conference will bring together gas industry experts and decision-makers from the worlds of business and politics at the Hotel Palace Berlin.

The focus will be on the current challenges facing the gas industry. Affordable gas remains of great importance for industrial processes and heating supply. It will also continue to be needed to operate new gas-fired power stations. At the same time, climate targets and regulatory requirements are changing the industry's operating environment. 

The conference will address key questions regarding the future role of natural gas and renewable energies. Another key focus is on the impact of international developments and political decisions on the European gas market.

Stephan Haupt, Managing Director of VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH, will take part in the discussion 'The role of the state and businesses in the global gas trading market' on 30 September at 9.55 a.m., alongside Dr Friedbert Pflüger, founder and Managing Director of the Clean Energy Forum.

15th East German Energy Forum

Under the theme 'Security in Uncertain Times', the 15th East German Energy Forum will take place on September 30 and October 1, 2026, at the Jahnallee Campus of the University of Leipzig. This leading conference on the future of energy in Eastern Germany will bring together over 500 representatives from politics, the energy sector, industry, academia and local authorities to discuss the key challenges of the energy transition, security of supply and competitiveness.

The focus will be on current issues relating to resilient energy systems, the expansion of renewable energies, the development of efficient infrastructure, and the role of Eastern Germany as a key hub in the European energy system.

Stephan Haupt, Managing Director of VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH, will take part as a panellist on September 30, 2026, in the panel discussion 'Energy Supply – Resilience through Decentralisation?'.
