Sustainability at VNG H&V above industry average
VNG Handel & Vertrieb GmbH has improved its score on the independent EcoVadis sustainability rating platform and once again been awarded the bronze medal.
EcoVadis offers industry-specific sustainability ratings as well as a platform for suppliers and their customers. Large industrial users of gas, in particular, are increasingly taking supplier sustainability into account when selecting business partners. VNG Handel & Vertrieb (VNG H&V), a wholly-owned subsidiary of VNG AG headquartered in Leipzig, therefore underwent a sustainability assessment for the first time in May 2020 and was awarded bronze at the first attempt. The company's result is above the industry average.
"Our customers are under increasing pressure to prove their sustainability. So we can see the relevance for sales and will be supporting our customers by showing them where we stand on sustainability", says Konstantin von Oldenburg, Managing Director of VNG H&V.
The company was able to gain additional points in their annual rescoring by EcoVadis in May 2021. The bronze medal for sustainability is valid for one year.
"We are thrilled with the result. In the EcoVadis report, we can see what we need to do better – we can monitor our progress and continue improving. In many areas, just providing adequate documentation is a bigger problem than actually taking the relevant measures. Silver is our goal because I am sure: We can do it!"
